U.S. rulers and their stooges in Moscow are doing all they can to discredit the Proletarian Cultural Revolution in China. They picture this revolution as a sign of the weakness of the Chinese Communist Party. They interpret this historic revolution as basic unrest in China bordering on the brink of civil war. U.S. papers have made their number one preoccupation recent events in China. Moscow capitalists have called for the overthrow of Mao Tse-tung and have brutally attacked young Chinese students passing through Moscow on their way home.

Capitalists in Moscow and Washington claim an enormous “concern” for the Chinese people. They picture themselves as just “good guys” who want to prevent Mao and the leaders of the Chinese Communist Party from injuring the Chinese masses. However, history is teaching us that when revisionists and imperialists are for something, the people must be against it. They oppose the Cultural Revolution; we must support it. Imperialists and their stooges in Moscow are opposed to the interests of the people all over the world. Why should they suddenly be for the interests of the people of China?

The Cultural Revolution, guided by the thought of Mao Tse-tung, far from weakening China is making it an invincible fortress of revolution. This is the real reason the imperialists and revisionists are spurred on to greater counter-revolutionary action. The Chinese people by the tens of millions are making the revolution themselves–from below. They are determining their own destiny more than any other people in the world. They are transforming their society so that revisionism-capitalism can never rear its ugly head. In doing this they are on the side of all progressive forces of mankind. Working for their own aspirations, they advance the aspirations of mankind.

Under the leadership of the Chinese Communist Party led by Mao Tse-tung, the Chinese people are acting against those in the party and elsewhere who would work to drag China back to Soviet revisionism–to capitalism. By preventing this and by fighting to consolidate the dictatorship of the proletariat the Chinese people are carrying the revolution through to the end. This is being accomplished by involving millions in revolutionary battle against old ideas and customs, and into battle against those who would fight to maintain old ideas and customs.

No wonder the State Department and the Soviet revisionists tremble and cry out. Millions in revolutionary action! This is the most terrifying sight in the world for them, and the most inspiring sight for all revolutionaries.
